Trial begins of American woman charged with causing accident that killed members of Tonga royal fami

The trial of a 19 year old woman accused of causing the car accident which killed two members of the Tongan Royal family last year in San Francisco, California has begun.

Edith Delgado, the woman accused of causing the car crash, has been held in prison for nearly a year awaiting the appointment of a judge to hear the case

She has pleaded not guilty to three counts of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence for her alleged role in the crash last July that killed Tonga's Prince Tu'ipelehake, Princess Kaimana Tu'ipelehake and their driver, Vinisia Hefa.

She remains in custody in lieu of $1 million bail.
