Fiji student body indifferent to army threat against bloggers

A Student Association in Fiji says it is not concerned about the military's warning to terminate all scholarships of Fiji students found to be bloggers.

Colonel Pita Driti says the military will track down all students at the University of the South Pacific, or USP, who blog against the regime and will terminate their Fijian Affairs Board scholarships.

But the president of USP's student association, Ruiti Tawanang, says she is not concerned.

"We have not heard about this issue around this association. Students are not really aware of it. There is nothing of that sort and I don't think it will ever happen."
