A United States Department of Agriculture meat inspector who recently visited the territory say some food items which were being sold in local stores should not have been allowed in at all.
Frank Quinn of the USDA meat inspection office in Honolulu used as an example canned pork products made in China found in one store.
Mr Quinn says when the store owner was questioned about the products he said that these were imported form Samoa two years ago.
The food items were ordered off the shelves and destroyed.
Other products which were found during the inspection were frozen meat products made in the Philippines.
The federal official said these products should never have been allowed in by customs.
