Samoa's national carrier, Polynesian Airlines, says its Dash 8 aircraft is now back in service after it was grounded in Tonga for nearly a month following an incident while landing at Fuamotu Airport.

The plane lost a wheel during landing in bad weather at Fuamotu Airport on the 22nd of May.

While the aircraft was out of action, Polynesian flights operated on a smaller Twin Otter aircraft.

Passengers experienced frequent delays and often traveled without their luggage.

Polynesian's CEO, Taua Fatu Tieulu, says the aircraft made its first flight to American Samoa from Samoa last Friday.
