Fiji's ousted leader's court action over the legality of coup to be heard - in four months

The high court in Suva has today decided to hear the case of Fiji's ousted prime minister and some of his SDL party members.

Laisenia Qarase is questioning the legality of the military takeover last year and has taken the matter to the court.

The Fijitimes reports an application against the proceedings lodged by the interim regime has been thrown out by the court.

Acting Chief Justice, Anthony Gates, has set October second as the commencement date for the hearing.
