American Samoa's Congressman, Faleomavaega Eni Hunkin, has introduced a bill in the US Congress to allow soldiers from American Samoa to register and place absentee votes in the election of Governor and the territory's House of Representatives.

At present all voters for the election of Governor and the House of Representatives must register in person at the American Samoa Election Office, including military personnel on duty around the world.

But for the election of American Samoa's delegate to Congress, military personnel can register and make absentee votes.
