Fiji anti-corruption body appoints another military officer to replace Teleni

Another senior military officer has been appointed the new deputy commissioner of the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption.

Lt Col George Langman succeeds Captain Esala Teleni who resigned from the position as he became the new commissioner of police on Monday.

The interim attorney general, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, says Lt Col Langman is the right man for the job because he has been with the Commission from its inception, working behind the scenes.

The military spokesman,. Major Neumi Leweni, says Lt Col Langman had been with the military for more than 20 years with most of his time spent at the army's strategic headquarters.

He was on secondment to the Australian army from 2005 to 2006.
