A campaign demanding the release of two Papuans from jail in Indonesia for raising the Morning Star flag has reached Jakarta's Embassy in London.
About 30 people organised by the Free West Papua Campaign and local Amnesty International activists visited Indonesia's Embassy yesterday to present a petition with the demand.
Filep Karma and Yusak Pakage are two years into 15 and 10 year respective sentences in Papua's Abepura prison.
The men were arrested in Abepura in 2004 for flying the flag which is a symbol of Papuan independence.
The two men have been declared prisoners of conscience by Amnesty, and the campaign spokesman, Benny Wenda, says Filep Karma is being tortured.
He says their peaceful demonstration demanded the immediate and unconditional release of the men.
"We had eight thousand post cards for release of Yusak and Filep worldwide. So we also delivered the postcards and statement but I don't think Indonesia will respond because Indonesia just ignored."
