The Solomon Islands government has condemned what it calls "an unwarranted attack" on the official car of the Taiwanese Ambassador.

The car's tyres were flattened, its rear window smashed and the official flag vandalized while it was parked at the Honiara Hotel where the diplomat was attending an official function.

The government vows it will take all necessary action to ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice for what it calls their deplorable actions.
