Fiji interim PM says Forum secretariat being used against it

Fiji's interim prime minister has accused the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat of being used by Australia and New Zealand to campaign against his interim regime.

Commodore Frank Bainimarama says his administration has experienced first had how Australia and New Zealand have strategically used their influence and the tacit support of the Forum Secretariat to undermine and subordinate Fiji's interests to that of theirs and the international community.

Speaking in Nadi, he said while promoting good governance as one of the pillars of the Pacific Plan, the Secretariat has supported and endorsed a couple of sacked former Fiji Government CEO's.

Two sacked Fiji CEO's Paula Uluinaceva and Lesi Korovavala have been offered Forum related jobs in Nauru and Solomon Islands.

Commodore Bainimarama said this was done despite the Secretariat being made aware of the background to their sacking.
