7:22 am on 10 August 2007

Fiji's national airline Air Pacific, is exploring new business opportunities in Asia.

Air Pacific is in dialogue with airlines in India, China and other Asian countries on code sharing arrangements.

Air Pacific's managing director, John Campbell, says they can use Tokyo as a connection point to Fiji because passengers can transit through Narita Airport without a transit visa.

The new talks are in line with Fiji's Look North policy of increasing trade and tourism from Asian countries.
