Tana Umaga heads off to France today to take up his coaching career, feeling good that New Zealand rugby is well set up for the future.

Umaga, who played his 100th match for Wellington at the weekend, will take charge of the French second division club Toulon, whom he played for a bit over the summer.

Umaga says New Zealand rugby is in good heart and there will always be depth of players....

"If you look at the under 19 and the under 21's and they're coming through this team now, so when someone leaves, we are losing players but we've got such a great depth, and that's one of the things we can't lose sight of, we've got great young kids coming we're born to play rugby, they're brought up to play the game and there's always someone else popping up"
