Fiji's National Federation Party says the interim government should be focussing on the immediate political issues rather than approving visa exemptions for Chinese nationals.
The party's general secretary, Pramod Rae, says the interim government is looking for alternative tourism sources as arrival numbers from Australia and New Zealand fall.
Mr Rae says it should be trying to foster foreign investment, employment and economic growth.
"Inflation is currently, so far this year in this country, growing at a rate of one per cent every month and we have more than seven percent now, that's the highest it's been in recent history. So you know, these are things the regime ought to be focusing on rather than a tit for tat response to our traditional partners in tourism sources like Australia and New Zealand."
He says it appears as though the interim government is looking for direction and will try anything.
