The American Samoa National Olympic Committee received word today that the Samoa Government has partially waived the 30-US dollars entry permit fees for US nationals on Team American Samoa for the South Pacific Games, which gets underway this weekend in Apia.

American Samoa is sending a 302 member contingent and more than 100 are US nationals.

ASNOC President, Ben Solaita, says while they are thankful for the partial waiver, unfortunately they failed with their other request.

"We had asked for the dropping of the 40 Tala airport tax, they said they're sorry but, that's a law and everyone that participates in these games that's every country and every athlete will be required to pay the 40 Tala."
