American Samoas former House Speaker , Matagi Ray McMoore, has been confirmed to serve as Director of Port Administration.

The House of Representatives approved his nomination by a 12 to 6 vote yesterday morning.

The Senate confirmed Matagi's nomination in July.

This is Matagi's first tenure as a cabinet member.

He has been Speaker of the House for three terms but lost the Fagatogo House seat in last year's elections to Leapai Sipa Anoai.

Before he was appointed as Port Director, Matagi served as a special assistant to Governor Togiola Tulafono.
