6:22 am on 27 August 2007

The Solomon Island's Prime minister, Manasseh Sogavare, plans to bring a motion in parliament covering a review of Ramsi, the regional assistance mission.

The motion states that parliament will review the international assistance notice and take any necessary action.

The Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation says he also plans to move for an extension of the time allowed for a parliamentary seat to remain empty while court cases are proceeding.

Mr Sogavare wants to hold the seat for MP Francis Zama until the end of his appeal against his conviction for corruption is resolved.
