The Fiji Law Society does not support the interim government's Peoples' Charter.
Fiji Village reports that the Law Society council says it's considered the various proposals contained in the so-called Charter for Change and Progress, but it cannot support such a charter unless, and until, Fiji is returned to a democratic government.
The notice goes on to say that it is only a democratic government that ought to implement the proposals and ideas that are contained in the charter.
The Fiji Law Society stated that if it took part in such a process, then it would be seen that they were accepting the events of 5th December 2006, when the coup occurred.
