10:19 am on 12 September 2007

The Solomon Islands Prime Minister, Manasseh Sogavare, will be briefed today

by the President of the National Olympic Committee, Charles Dausabea about alleged misconduct by the manager of Team Solomon, at the Pacific Games in Samoa.

Government back bencher and General Team Manager, James Tora has been accused by triple Weight Lifting Silver medalist, 19-year old Wendy Hale of sexually

harassing her resulting in her not performing to her personal best.

Ms Hale revealed in an interview with the national Broadcaster SIBC that Mr Tora as took her out during an evening in Samoa and on returning to his hotel, asked to spend some time with her in his hotel room.

She says Mr Tora had given her presents but she had refused his advances.

Mr Dausabea says the National Olympic Committee and the Solomon Islands

Government deplore such behavior and the incident will be fully investigated as soon as possible.
