Samoa's Polynesian cancels all flights for three days

The Samoan carrier, Polynesian Airlines, has cancelled all flights for the next three days because of a lack of pilots.

Local Station Manager Brent Schwenke says some of the pilots are sick or on leave and others are flying the Dash 8 aircraft back to its owners in Papua New Guinea.

He says as a result all flights for the next three days have been cancelled while Polynesian is working with American Samoa's South Pacific Express and Inter Island Air to accommodate their passengers.

The cancellation affects a total of 12 Twin Otter flights.
