Solomons government joined by PAP's Kengava

6:40 pm on 18 September 2007

The Solomon Islands government has been joined by the parliamentary wing leader of the People's Alliance Party, Clement Kengava.

He was sworn in as the new minister for rural development and indigenous affairs.

Mr Kengava says he decided to join the Sogavare-led government because he believed in its rural development policy.

He says people have a lot of expectation of the government's bottom-up approach to development.
