Samoa is considering to import right-hand drive vehicles.
The proposed change would stop the use of left-hand drive vehicles which were first introduced when Samoa was under German rule a century ago.
The secretary of the Transport Control Board, Tusa Misi Tupuola, says legislation will be tabled in parliament before the end of the year to allow the use and import of right hand-drive vehicles.
the Prime Minister, Tuila'epa Sa'ilele Malielegaoi, has told the Samoa Observer newspaper that New Zealand and Australia are close which means vehicles can be sourced from there at a lower cost.
