The director of the Fiji-based Pacific Centre for Public Integrity, Angie Heffernan, is expected to leave for New York later today to lobby against the Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama.

Ms Heffernan, who has been critical of last December's military overthorw of the government, is expected to leave with a group of people.

Commodore Bainimarama will leave for New York tonight to address the UN General Assembly this Friday.

A series of meetings have reportedly been arranged for Commodore Bainimarama in the US.

However, diplomatic missions of four countries mentioned by the Fiji media have denied that any talks are on the agenda.
