The Tongan Princess Salote Mafile'o Pilolevu Tuita has made a brief visit to the Whitireia Community Polytechnic north of Wellington.
She was welcomed to the area by the people of Ngati Toa before she officially opened the new accommodation on Whiteireia campus for Tongan students studying here.
Princess Pilolevu Tuita says having the students in Wellington helps them to adjust better to the environment.
Princess Pilolevu Tuita says the accommodation will also take the burden away from local families who've looked after the students.
