FBI asked to locate missing American Samoan

The FBI has been asked to investigate the disappearance of a federal employee in American Samoa.

The Samoa News reports today that officials of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in Honolulu and Seattle have asked the Bureau to investigate the disappearance of NOAA employee Matthew Puletasi.

Puletasi, who has been missing for more than a week, was last seen in the

Weather Service Office grounds in in the village of Tula while performing regular maintenance work.

An official search headed by the Department of Public Safety has been called off called off but a police investigation into his disappearance continues.
