The World Bank's latest survey has ranked Fiji first among Pacific island countries for doing business.
Fiji is placed well ahead of Tonga, Samoa and Vanuatu with Marshall Islands and East Timor at the bottom of the list.
In the East Asia and Pacific region Fiji is ranked 5th, after Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand and Malaysia.
The World Bank survey tracks 10 indicators of business regulation that among other things measure the time and cost of meeting government requirements in setting up businesses.
The World Bank survey of 178 countries ranks Fiji 36th overall with Singapore, New Zealand and the USA heading the list.
