One of the three commercial television stations in Samoa has been closed permanently after experiencing financial difficulties.
The privately owned LAUTV was operated from a leased television station that belongs to the Christian Graceland Broadcasting studio in Levili.
The owner and chief executive officer, Tuiasau Leota Uelese Petaia, announced the closing of the station yesterday .
Tuiasau says it has become increasingly difficult to maintain a legitimately run television station and rather than risk incurring more debt, they have decided to cease operations.
