Samoa's Prime Minister, Tuila'epa Sa'ilele Malielegaoi, has urged international partners to continue supporting his country despite its graduation from the group of least developed countries.
Tuila'epa's call was made when he addressed the 62nd session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The Prime Minister says his nation's small isolated island economy still faces lack of natural resources and remains prone to devastating natural disasters and other disadvantages.
He told the UN General debate of the 62nd session that none of these conditions and risks will disappear after Samoa graduates from the LDC group.
The prime minister also spoke on the development of small Pacific Island economies with emphasis on the effects of climate change and global disasters.
