Australia's indigenous boxers prove too strong for Fiji

11:14 am on 24 October 2007

The touring Australian Indigenous boxing side proved too smart and strong for Fiji winning nine of the ten bouts in their first match in the capital Suva last night.

Fiji's only victory came in the 54 kilogram division where Avinesh Kumar beat Tim Williams by unanimous points decision.

Australia's national champion Luke Jackson looked smart in his bout as he outclassed Amlesh Narayan to take out a majority points decision.

The touring side take a well deserved rest today before taking on the Fijian side in the second and last bout tomorrow.
