9:02 am on 9 November 2007

A group of New Zealand based Pacific Island entrepreneurs seeking out potential investment opportunities in their homelands, have arrived in Tonga.

The group is led by the Pacific Islands Trade and Investment Commission, or the P.I.T.I.C

Dubravka Voloder reports from Nuku'alofa.

"After seeking out business opportunities in Samoa, the ten New Zealand based entrepreneurs have arrived in Tonga where they received a warm welcome. The Chamber of Commerce has organised private appointments for delegates today, to inform them about the industry sectors they are interested in. They are also schedule to visit a number of businesses. The PITIC hopes that the mission will encourage the delegates to invest in tourism, joint ventures, agriculture or fisheries. The group will return to New Zealand on Saturday."
