Electoral officers return to the assigned precincts this week

The Marshall Islands is preparing for a general election on the 19th of November, which will be monitored by a six member election observer group nominated by the Pacific Island Forum.

More than 36,000 people are eligible to choose a new 33-member parliament, or nitijela.

The chief electoral officer, Karl Alik, says everything is on schedule including the training of election officials.

"We deploying most of the returning officers to their allocated assigned precinct."

Voters will also elect mayors.
