American Samoa's Department of Commerce has received a grant from the Department of Interior Office of Insular Affairs to improve and streamline getting a business licensing permit.
The grant of more than US$190,000 is to be used to complete an electronic archive of existing licenses and permits.
The funds will also be used to compile an industry profile for the territory, training and customer service.
Funds can also be used for workshops or agencies involved in the review and approval of business licenses and permits, and to develop a website for online applications.
Grant funded projects must be completed by December 2008.
