Papua New Guinea rugby league side heads home winless from France

France's rugby league side has completed a clean sweep of Papua New Guinea with a controversial 22-16 win over Adrian Lam's Kumuls in the second test.

A contentious no-try call by an in-goal judge against Kumuls lock Charlie Wabo helped the French to sneak past PNG.

Lam says it had been an arduous Northern hemisphere tour for the Kumuls, who started with a 50-10 loss to Wales.

The freshly installed Sydney Roosters assistant says the team has been travelling so much he felt like a rock star.

PNG have controversially been grouped with Australia, England and New Zealand in next year's World Cup with the top three to make the semis.
