Fiji's public radio broadcaster has a new chief executive officer, Riyaz Saiyad-Khaiyum.

He is a former Fiji Television and New Zealand-based journalist and the younger brother of interim attorney general Aiyaz Saiyad-Khaiyum.

The appointment was announced by the interim public enterprise minister, Poseci Bune, who says the new CEO of the Fiji Broadcasting Corporation will take up his new position soon.

He replaces Francis Herman who resigned six months ago to take up a job in Vanuatu.
