American Samoa Power Authority, or ASPA,
officials are in Hawai'i looking at alternative energy
sources as a way to reduce the territory's dependency
on imported fuel.
The University of Hawai'i has made an alternative energy presentation to ASPA officials.
The director of the university's Pacific Business Center Programme, Papali'i Dr. Tusi Avegalio, says the commercialisation of alternative technology is an important aspect to developing more sustainable strategies.
Papali'i said ASPA officials held multi presentation
meetings in Hawaii as well as site visits dealing with
alternative energy including different types of solar
energy and ocean thermal technology.
