Pacific countries are discussing water issues and priorities with Asian countries in the first summit of its kind.
Japan is hosting and funding the two day Asia Pacific Water Summit in Beppu.
Out of 49 countries taking part, there are at least 13 Pacific countries including Kiribati, Nauru, Samoa, Tonga and Vanuatu.
A variety of topics are being discussed, including financing, disaster management, development of waterways and ecosystems.
The meeting, which has attracted heads of governments, stakeholders, the private sector, academics, civil society and development agencies, ends today.
