Fiji's ousted Prime Minister, Laisenia Qarase, says a former New Zealand Governor General may make more trips to Fiji to help the country move forward.
Sir Paul Reeves was in Fiji last week for meetings with the interim Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama.
In the mid-1990's Sir Paul chaired the commission which drew up the current constitution.
Mr Qarase says when he met Sir Paul, they discussed his recent proposal to recall the former parliament before elections so it can legally resign.
"They were fully aware of it. They mentioned [other] issues such as the proposed charter...what my view and that sort of thing. So it was more information gathering from me, particularly my views, and the views of other people that they saw."
Laisenia Qarase says Sir Paul Reeves was invited to Fiji by the interim prime minister.
