Assistant police commissioner in Samoa facing sexual charges to enter plea

The District Court in Samoa will today hear five charges including 3 of indecent assault against one of the assistant police commissioner accused of attempting to rape two police women.

The proceeding is closed to the public and the media according to the Attorney General's office.

The AG office says this will allow several preliminary issues about the case to be heard between the presiding judge and lawyers for both sides.

But once the does begin proper it will be open to the public and the media.

It is expected that the defense lawyer for the accused who has name suppression will enter a plea in today's proceeding.
