Taiwan to pay for repairs to Air Marshall Islands aircraft

Taiwan is to provide funding to 'help the Marshalls national airline whose two planes have been grounded for more than three months.

Taiwan will provide the money to cover the cost of repairing both planes and to cover the airline's outstanding bills

An airline official indicated that Taiwan had committed to providing $2

million needed to pay for parts and repairs of the 34-seat Dash-8 and

19-seat Dornier 228 aircraft.

The airline official said they should be able to get the Dash-8 back in service within about three weeks from receipt of the funds
