Fiji police have been ordered by the court to return items seized from the Suva home of New Zealand businessman, Ballu Khan.

Mr Khan was arrested last week and charged with three counts of conspiracy to murder the interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama and two cabinet ministers.

According to the news website Fijilive, magistrate Aminiasi Katonivualiku said police had seized Mr Khan's properties, including three vehicles, a portable DVD, camera and a video camera.

Lawyers for the state opposed the court ruling and wanted to seek a stay on the decision.

The magistrate said the stay application could be heard in the High Court next Monday.
