Solomons opposition loses another two members

2:33 pm on 16 January 2008

Two more members of the Solomon Islands' opposition have resigned and are joining the government.

The Solomon Star reports the MP for West Are'are Severino Nuaiasi and his North West Guadalcanal colleague Siriako Usa tendered their resignations yesterday.

Their resignation now leaves the Opposition and Independent combined to only 10 MPs of the 48 member house.

In a letter to Leader of Opposition Manasseh Sogavare, Mr Nuaiasi says he is resigning from the Socred Party and the Opposition.

The resignation followed the crossover of Shortlands MP, Augustine Taneko and Gela member Mark Kemakeza last week.
