Fiji court allows resumption of Fiji Water exports

A high court ruling in Fiji has allowed container exports of Fiji Water to resume - but only until January 31st.

The Lautoka High Court ruled yesterday in favour of Fiji Water exports, after the company exporting the product failed to reach a resolution with Fiji Islands Revenue and Customs Authority over the product's valuation through talks.

The company, Natural Waters of Viti Limited, filed an injunction seeking court orders for Fiji Water exports to resume after FIRCA moved to block its exports over the dispute.

Fiji Ports chairman Semi Koroilavesau says its great news, as they've lost revenue over the standoff.

He says shipments can go out from Lautoka and Suva ports for markets in New Zealand, Australia and the United States.

"We're very happy because y'know as its business to us, its business to Fiji Ports."
