The woman who allegedly threw her two babies into the Rewa River has been charged with murder.

Police charged the 22-year-old woman of Khalsa Road in Nasinu.

Police alleged she had an argument with her husband this week and later went missing from their home with the children.

Divisional Crime Officer Eastern Assistant Superintendent, Ramesh Chand, told the Fiji Times the woman would appear in court this morning facing two charges of murder.

He said a post mortem on the two children found that they died from drowning.

He said the woman and her children had been reported missing on Monday by her husband.
