Fiji army engineers brought in to repair nursing school damaged by cyclone

The interim Fiji Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama has asked army engineers to immediately undertake repairs at the Fiji School of Nursing, to ensure it can reopen as soon as possible.

The school was badly affected by Cyclone Gene last week and the opening of the 2008 year was deferred.

The Government says part of the Ministry of Health's budget for regular maintenance could be diverted to meet the cost of rehabilitation.
