The Premier of Solomon Islands' Western Province, Alex Lokopio, has welcomed the central government's releasing more than two million US dollars for people who lost their homes in a tsunami ten months ago.
Mr Lokopio says the funds are being handled by a Rehabilitation Committee, which will visit people who lost their homes.
But the funds won't reach them straight away as bank accounts need to be opened before the money can be allocated.
Mr Lokopio says he is very thankful to the central government for releasing the money, but fears it isn't enough.
Hundreds of homes were destroyed in an earthquake and tsunami on April the 2nd last year.
