There are concerns that the province of Torba in Vanuatu has been overlooked by the National Disaster Management Office in its assessments of damage caused by Cyclone Funa.
Vanuatu's Daily Post newspaper reports that the Office has been urged to send a team to the country's northern-most province to properly assess the damage sustained by the cyclone last month.
The major telecommunication lines to Torba are still out, leaving it in almost total isolation.
However reports from neighbouring Penama province filtering back to Port Vila have indicated extensive damage to crops in Torba, raising concern about food shortages.
Public buildings such as schools were also reportedly damaged by the cyclone's storm force winds.
