A history professor in New Caledonia has been dismissed and barred from teaching across the French education system for taking pornographic pictures, including of himself, on the university premises.
A disciplinary committee found that the pictures, which were taken in various university locations, amounted to an attack on the university's reputation and mission.
The 47-year old professor is also a counsillor at the Noumea town hall.
His lawyer says there'll will be an appeal as the decision against his client is based on allegations that are not proven.
