10:35 am on 5 March 2008

Britain's Prince Andrew visits Indonesia's Papua province today.

The Duke of York arrived in the Indonesian capital on Monday to begin a three-day visit as a special representative for British trade and investment.

The Antara news Agency reports that Prince Andrew's visit takes in meetings with three ministers -- for trade; energy and mineral resources; and for state enterprises.

He was then due to fly to the easternmost province of Papua to visit the Tangguh liquefied natural gas field project operated by British Petroleum.

The Tangguh project involves tapping offshore gas fields in Papua's Bintuni bay, which have proven reserves of at least 14.4 trillion cubic feet.

A meeting with President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has been tentatively set for Thursday, before Andrew leaves for India.
