Solomons New Zealand and Fiji win third round of Olympic soccer qualifier

Solomon Islands are still top of the table after the third round of the Olympic soccer qualifying tournament in Fiji.

They have maximum points from three matches and a goal difference of plus twenty-one after a five nil win over Vanuatu.

New Zealand are still behind the Solomon's on goal difference despite a five-two win over Papua New Guinea.

In the third game yesterday, Fiji beat Cook Islands nine nil.

Four players were red carded - two from each team - including Fiji pair Avinesh Suwamy and Osea Vakatalesau.

Cook Islands pair John Bataillard and Gichin Huiniu were also sent off.
