The Solomon Islands government says it is allocating $12 million from its $360 million rural development budget to kick-start three major projects in Malaita Province this year.
Deputy Prime Minister Fred Fono says the three projects are the Bina Harbour Sea Port in West Kwaio which is allocated $5 million, Auluta Palm Oil project in East Malaita ($5 million) and the Suava Bay project in North Malaita ($2 million).
Mr Fono says other rural development projects across the country will receive their funding from the budget over future months.
