The Fiji Times publisher, Evan Hannah, was summoned by the interim Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum to a meeting yesterday afternoon .

The Fiji Times reports that in a news conference, Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said the meeting was to discuss the possible publication of certain articles which the interim prime minister's office had received on Thursday.

He said the Fiji Times was going to run the articles as opinion pieces.

Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said the articles titled - Exposing the Lie - contained what the interim Government believed were a number of factual inaccuracies, was very highly emotive and discussed matters that were before the courts.

He said he told Mr Hannah the interim Government was not him telling what to print but the interim Prime Minister was merely concerned that as publisher, he should ensure the opinion columns should be factually correct.
